Kench Hill Centre is an elegant, homely Georgian manor house set in beautiful gardens in the heart of the Kent countryside. It has been the setting for London Borough of Hackney’s school journeys for over 30 years, providing high quality, safe and fun educational activities for primary and secondary school pupils. It is run by The Kench Hill Charity working with The Learning Trust, a not-for-profit business which provides all Hackney’s education services. The Centre is open all year, including holidays and weekends, for the benefit of Hackney’s learning community and others. We welcome day and residential visits from a diverse range of groups, for formal and informal educational purposes. We are also available for hire to families and groups looking for a relaxed venue for special occasions, events and training - from wedding receptions to weekend breaks. All are welcome, but Hackney residents and employees can take advantage of discounted rates.
The Centre is an ideal location to teach National Curriculum subjects, especially Science, Geography and Design Technology, as well as providing a stimulus for creative art and craft activities. Our expert staff can devise and help teach a programme tailored to your needs, or advise you in developing your own programme using our facilities, including a 17-seater minibus.
