It is a legal and moral requirement that leaders of school parties and others in a responsible position take reasonable care of themselves and other persons who may be affected by their acts or omissions. We will do all we can to help group leaders comply with guidelines. A preliminary visit is essential for any new leaders. Before a Kench Hill trip the group leader is sent a detailed pack with information about accommodation, activities etc. Leaders should send information about the group, staffing and experience to the Centre in advance of their visit.
Leaders should also inform their local authority School Visits Coordinator about plans for any residential trips and complete the relevant documentation. Hackney schools should refer to The Learning Trust's Health & Safety manual pages on Educational Visits and Risk Assessment and inform Health & Safety Manager, David Norwich. Tel 020 8820 7338
This is the revised Health & Safety manual published in June 2011. It supercedes all previous documents.
You can download our Health & Safety Manual below. You may wish to print only the risk assessments relevant to your visit.
